So, I'm reading the feedback on the new theme. Half the people like it, half the people don't. Take this poll and tell me whether you like this theme more or the previous light theme that was used.

How about having multiple skins so that everyone can just choose the one they prefer. Edit: Just saw your post about it being somewhat of a hassle to update multiple skins. -------------------- Without order nothing can exist.

It's really not that HUGE of a hassle having to update two skins. I've been there before when administrating a forum. Well, actually I had other people doing that, but it wasn't hard.
Variety is better. Most forums you find have at least 5 skins, typically put in place when the forum starts to grow. But anyway... I say light. Please, go back to the light one. This dark one makes me want to claw my eyes out. |

I think that the darker skin looks better. Skins that are too bright actually hurt my eyes.

I prefer the dark one, as much as I love lighter colors.
This is more easy on the eyes. -------------------- We know a little about a lot of things; just enough to make us dangerous.

Wow... That's a lot of forums. Seriously.
Sorry to be such a POA about this. I just like this board (it seems to be the best for FF out there) so I'd just like to see it looking its best. I also hate the color orange when paired with black. Granted, my personal opinion doesn't really matter much here. |

Of course I want to see more feedback because I make another change to the board. Normally I never have any issues with the layout that I veer to using. If more and more bring this to my attention, then I will do more to accommodate. I don't want to have multiple skins for the reason I explained, plus I like having a main page look, and then a simpler subforum look. If I allow multiple skins, I wouldn't be able to have the difference of the two looks and the top of ALL pages would either have to be with the next episode update (front page currently) or without...but I don't want to have a forum with nothing on the main page. That's just me. I like to use the first page of most of the forums I run as a little more informative to visitors. But we will see...since I did just change this theme, I'm not quick to change it back to a lighter look, but I will check back on the feedback and make adjustments.
For you 12916...is it just the black background that's bothering you? Because the posts are easy to read, etc. |

It's more the light gray post field against the black background. The only way you could get more stark is if it were white. Unfortunately, that's one of the perils of a dark background, because light text on dark tends to become migraine inducing unless done really freaking well.
There's that, and the secondary orange theme. It's too Halloween for my personal tastes. (And for the record I kind of hate Halloween for reasons involving childhood "trauma" and the nefariousness of older mask-clad children. And by trauma I mean I got scared sh*tless at a young age, and therefore never warmed up to anything even remotely related to the holiday, including candy.) Also, the post date and times are impossible to read at first glance. Maybe it's just me, but it takes a few seconds of staring at them for my eyes to adjust enough to read them. By lightening them, and any other dark on dark text up, that can be rectified quite simply. The board statistics at the bottom of the main page are also a bit of an eyesore, given how the board suddenly goes from black to white, essentially reversing in theme for them. Is there any way to change that, or is it something set in stone by IP.Board? All That being said, I do not mind the front page theme, as I quite like blue. Not totally keen on the yellow, but it's something I can readily accept. Though I can say that I quite like the glowing yellow "New Topic" button. That's just plain pretty. If you can find a way to add that glow to the rest of the yellow on the forum, I might find myself just staring at the layout (shiny things are kind of amazing, you know) instead of posting. That could pose a problem, though, right? Sorry to sound nit-picky. I just have an eye for detail, especially when it comes to the really small things. |

Dark screens hurt my eyes a ridiculous amount.

I didn't see the previous skin, but this one isn't too bad. A variety is always nice, and as someone else said, it isn't that hard to update more skins - I'm not sure how many Admins you have here, but if you dont have many, a couple of extra to help could be an idea

I also didn't see the previous skin, but this is one of the better dark themed forums that I've seen, so I have no problem with it.

Time is running out for my friend. While we are sitting at lunch she casually mentions she and her husband are thinking of starting a family. "We're taking a survey,"she says, half-joking. "Do you think I should have a baby?" dog clothes, "It will change your life," dog clothes I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral. "I know,"she says, "no more sleeping in on weekends, no more spontaneous holidays..." But that's not what I mean at all. I look at my friend, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn in childbirth classes. I want to tell her that the physical wounds of child bearing will heal, but becoming a mother will leave her with an emotional wound so raw that she will be vulnerable forever. cheap aion kinah, I consider warning her that she will never again read a newspaper without thinking:cheap aion kinah "What if that had been MY child?" That every plane crash, every house fire will haunt her. That when she sees pictures of starving children, she will wonder if anything could be worse than watching your child die. I look at her carefully manicured nails and stylish suit and think that no matter how sophisticated she is, becoming a mother will reduce her to the primitive level of a bear protecting her cub. wedding dresses, I feel I should warn her that no matter how many years she has invested in her career, wedding dresses she will be professionally derailed by motherhood. She might arrange for child care, but one day she will be going into an important business meeting, and she will think her baby's sweet smell. She will have to use every ounce of discipline to keep from running home, just to make sure her child is all right. wedding dresses, I want my friend to know that every decision will no longer be routine.wedding dresses That a five-year-old boy's desire to go to the men's room rather than the women's at a restaurant will become a major dilemma. The issues of independence and gender identity will be weighed against the prospect that a child molester may be lurking in the lavatory. However decisive she may be at the office, she will second-guess herself constantly as a mother. flyff penya, Looking at my attractive friend, flyff penya I want to assure her that eventually she will shed the added weight of pregnancy, but she will never feel the same about herself. That her own life, now so important, will be of less value to her once she has a child. She would give it up in a moment to save her offspring, but will also begin to hope for more years—not to accomplish her own dreams—but to watch her children accomplish theirs. maple story mesos, I want to describe to my friend the exhilaration of seeing your child learn to hit a ball.maple story mesos I want to capture for her the belly laugh of a baby who is touching the soft fur of a dog for the first time. I want her to taste the joy that is so real it hurts. My friend's look makes me realize that tears have formed in my eyes. "You'll never regret it," I say finally. Then, squeezing my friend's hand, I offer a prayer for her and me and all of the mere mortal women who stumble their way into this holiest of callings. |
