Yeah, that scene strained credulity. You saw Demetri and Vreede sitting in the back seat, just reaching for the door when the guy was standing there aiming the weapon at them. So they were able to open the door, climb out, and get away from the car in the amount of time it took the guy to pull the trigger? Uh uh, no way. dry.gif

Agreed. And that scene was even more ridiculous with the stupid music during the fight. They could at least have made it a real fight scene

In my opinion, especially the music was some kind of a forecast and fit into that scene perfectly.
"how does it feel to be on your own"

Obviously this attack was ordered by the president. We saw him doing a phone call, telling someone that there is a problem and that he/she should take care about it.

I think, that our guys are now into real trouble without having any support from the president/gouvernment.
So, they are "on their own".

Thank you for explaining that. I couldn't figure out how "Like a Rolling Stone" fit into the scene, but that makes sense. smile.gif

i disagree that it's "obvious" that the president ordered the strike. of course it's possible but i doubt that the writers would lay something out in such a straight forward way. if this show is anything like "lost" which it seems to be, then it's all about misdirection.

i'm personally betting on the senate committee leader who claimed her FF showed her as president in 6 months. It seems more likely that she has an issue with the team and especially with mark.

interesting to think about the songs lyrics though. i didn't really like having the kareoke song during the gun fight. imo it took some of the punch out of the scene.

It was stretching the viewers intelligence a bit to assume they could have all escaped from that without a scratch. The music was just so cheesy blink.gif

Ok, change "obviously" into "presumably".

Doesn't seem likely to me the President ordered it (unless he was pissed about being blackmailed over his LOVE CHILD).
Did anyone notice that all the assialants were Chinese (Far Eastern anyway)? What significance could that have?

I think the fact they were all Asian is significant. I also believe it is all about misdirection, and that we are supposed to think the President put out a hit on the boys.

Well, does anyone remember the Senate hearings in which the CIA director states that it is all the fault of the Chinese? That actor is rather well known so I suspect that he will be in future episodes in a significant role. Therefore, maybe he is correct?

Or is it DOUBLE misdirection?!?!?!?!

You are overlooking something that's right there. The reason they survived is that they had plenty of time to escape the car since the rocket was shot in slow motion. D'uh.

I think the most interesting aspect of this scene is the fact that they shot at a car that had Demetri in it. If, as some people have suggested, Demetri is the evil dude's "plant" within the FBI, he'd be valuable to them, so they probably wouldn't be risking his life like that. I think there is more than one bad group (right from the start, the characters have made the mistake of assuming every small-time criminal is in the same, FF-organising tribe), but this scene seems to rule out Demetri belonging to that particular one.
