Mark, the FBI agent, has told everyone that in his flashforward he is in the office, and people are coming in to kill him.

So, why is Stanford Wedeck on the toilet, casually reading the paper? Even Mark asks him in ep. 2 "Where were you?"

If they know this is going to happen, why didn't Wedeck know "man, I KNOW Mark is in trouble. I'll poop later?"

Does something happen to make them forget the previous flashforward?

That's a general question I have.

We know that in the future they saw, the flashforward also happened, because Mark was researching it.

So why then, if you know the exact date and time (29 april 2010 11pm) wouldn't you leave clues? If I knew that tomorrow at 11pm my past self would look through my eyes, I would make sure I sit at my desk at that time, looking at a paper with as much useful information I can get on it, instead of pooping, making phonecalls or looking at my lover.

Yeah, it would simply not be possible for you to continue going about your daily routine and not stop or at least glance at a clock/watch if you knew it was going to happen. Either they all forget (another global blackout?) or the future has permanently been changed just by them seeing it.

I dont think in the future they knew that they would flashforward to that day... maybe thats why they were doing normal stuff on april 29th?

That was the first time they Flashforwarded.

The time they flashforwarded to, the 6 months previous didnt happen it was just a flash into the future of that day only.

What im saying is, they didnt flash into a different timeline where every day from october to april happened, they just went to that exact 2 mins 17 seconds, like had a glimpse of what is going to happen.

thats why no clues can be left, because previous to the blackout happening....none of that future would have been correct, it was the EVENT which CAUSED the FUTURE




Thats why now they have been given this glimpse of the 2 min future they will be able to change things and do things differently to change the future (Noh not dying and mark and Olivia not breaking up)

I agree with Zach and Carl. I think Stanford Wedeck is on the toilet because he didn't know what is happening in Mark' office. But now he had the flash forward, he could change his future and not be on the toilet on the April 29.

Then why was Mark researching the flashforward in his flashforward?

Not to bash the show or anything, i like it It's probably just to be able to tell a story, but that doesn't make it correct. Time traveling and story telling doesn't go well together, most of the time..

Because the event (MASS BLACKOUT) caused this FUTURE to happen. So ofcourse that will show him investigating the stuff because the event happened so from the day it happened he will investigate.

If I decide to murder someone tonight and then after doing it i have a flashforward 20 years and i see myself in prison, i see me there because of what i have just done. see what im getting at?

I dont think there is a parallel timeline. From the event time continues on one line not splits off into 2, all they saw was 2 minutes of that future

They talk about this in the book. They propose the theory that of all the billions of people in the world, not one person is talking about using what they saw in the flashforward as an instrument to change what they saw. The theory is put forth that people who are doing so (telling their past selves what the lotto numbers that day are etc) do not have visions. So possibly not everyone who lacks a vision will be dead on that day. The universe simply does not allow for time travel so it steps in and...course-corrects.
