for the ex-nazi, when u see the crows on the ground, u see the city in the background in ruins, which happens on the day of the blackout
in somalia, you also see the crows dead on the day of the blackout

so im pretty sure the crows died on the blackout day .

so the question is how come we didn't see crows in the US

Some people think the crows only die near the source of the blackout-causing stuff/force/whatever is causing it.

Actually, the worldwide crow population chart indicates birdwatchers did note and report the sudden deaths. Its just that, especially when you look at the reactions of everyone -except- Mark who was looking for any clues to piece the puzzle back together and the Nazi who happened to know his note of the dead crows would earn his freedom.

The ex Nazi had been studying birds, obviously, and given his limited perspective from within his prison cell, the dead birds would have been something that would stick out in his mind.

With all the chaos in LA, Mark and everyone else in the city would probably not notice the birds too much.

Its possible other crows did die, and other bird lovers did notice them, but considering the massive span of chaos and destruction, the crow deaths may have seemed minor.

I'd be willing to bet other animals will be getting attention, especially more intelligent species like primates and dolphins to see if they, too, suffered significantly from the GBO and, somehow, the GBO and FF were intelligence-related.
